Golden Threads CIC

About Us

Enid Gill

Enid is an Instructor of the Art du Chi method of Tai Chi, a Dance Artist Explorer and Dance Movement Psychotherapist.

She established Golden Threads as a means to offer physical and creative sessions to her local community, and is a strong believer in keeping our bodies and minds moving for better physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

As a professional Contemporary Dance Artist, Enid lived and worked in the UK and then in Europe for 12 years, dancing in small/medium scale projects with many choreographers including Jane Dudley, Janet Smith, Nadine Ganase and Claudio Bernardo, to name just a few. During this time, she also studied the complimentary bodywork practices of Iyengar Yoga, Shiatsu Massage and the Art du Chi, Stevanovitch approach to Tai Chi. Focussing on Tai Chi, Enid worked with and assisted Vlady and his wife, Michelle, Stevanovitch in southern France and has been teaching this method for nearly 25 years, teaching internationally, around the UK and now based in North Herefordshire.

Born to the sound of calypso music, with the sights and smells of the Caribbean to stimulate the senses, Enid is passionate about being connected to, and living through, the body. As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, she knows that this can initially be uncomfortable for many people however she knows the power and wisdom that we can gain through learning from our bodies, and the freedom we find when we do.

We all have ‘a body’ but everyone’s body with their life journey and challenges are different. Our body can feel alien and messy, making it difficult to know where to start. Enid supports being curious about our experiences, finding ways to be playful and compassionate with ourselves and, through our physical being, navigate life’s challenges.
